Congenital Heart Disease
Congenital heart disease is one of the types of heart disease. Most of the doctors do not know the exact reason for this kind of disease. Some of the women think that this disease is due to something wrong during pregnancy. Newborn babies and some of the adults may also get affected by this kind of disease. It includes the structural fault which leads to heart attack and the break down of heart muscles.
This is due to the improper growth of blood vessels or the other part which is nearer to the heart of the unborn baby and this leads to the improper function of heart because the parts which is around the heart is not developed properly. The defection of arteries and ventricular septum and the heart related vessels with difficulty and other shortage will lead to the faster beat of heart and may injure the heart muscles. If there is any hole in septum between arteries and ventricles will results in the flow of blood. The congenital heart disease includes the defects of interior wall of the heart, valves inside the heart and the defects of arteries and veins which carry blood with oxygen to the other organ of body.
The congenital disease will lead to the abnormal flow of blood to the heart. Some of the babies are born with congenital heart disease and they should be treated with special medical activities as soon as they born. Most of the children with such heart disease can lead an active life with the aid of effective treatments. In United States almost one million adults are living with this kind of heart disease. Among 1,000 babies 8 of them are affected by congenital heart disease. There are different types of congenital heart disease and most of them have no symptoms and it is a life threatening disease. Most of the defects are simple and they don’t need any treatment but most of the people have serious heart disease and they should be treated with special medication and the treatment should be continued life long. The other names for congenital disease are heart defects, cyanotic heart disease and congenital cardiovascular heart disease.
Types of Congenital Heart Disease
There are many types of congenital heart disease and these types are divided into simple and complex. The simple congenital heart disease includes the problem such as hole in the interior wall of the heart and this will lead to the mixing up of blood from both left and right side of the heart and eventually blocks the flow of blood to the lungs and other organs. The complex heart diseases are due to the defects of blood vessels and other part nearer to the heart.
